South Coast Railway
The South Coast Railway zone (SCoR) is the newest railway zone announced in Indian Railway Ministry with its headquarters at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This shall include AP part of the existing Waltair (to be merged into Vijayawada division), Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal divisions.
The jurisdiction of the South Coast Railway zone is spread over the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and small portion of Tamilnadu.
South Coast Railway Zone was formed on 27 February 2019 with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters.
On 8 March 2019 Ministry of Railways has appointed S. S. Srinivas as Officer On Special Duty, South Coast Railway to undertake preparatory work of the New Zone at Visakhapatnam.
