Indore gets two Haumsafar Express; Sumitra Mahajan to be flag off

Indore: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will flag off Haumsafar Express, the Indore-Puri train, on Saturday at 5.30 pm from platform number five. Its regular run will start from May 22. The Indore-Lingampalli (Hyderabad) train will start from May 19.

The direct train service for both the destinations was in demand for a long time. Humsafar Express will be only second VIP train to start from the city after Duranto.

Nagesh Namjoshi, ex-member of Passenger Amenities Committee, said railways issued notification for the train on Thursday. He said that Indore-Puri train will provide direct access to Durg and Raipur. For both the cities, there is no direct train from the MP's bussines hub. A large number of Hindu pilgrims visit Jagannath temple in Puri every year. They take trains from Ujjain or Bhopal.
